Philharmonic threatens KVB
Cologne - Philharmonic chief Louwrens Langevoort has not been easy. His house has an acoustic, to which he is envied around the world.
But only if the Heinrich-Böll-Platz - the roof of the Philharmonic - during rehearsals and concerts will be cordoned off by security guards. Pedestrians may not enter the place, which is heard in the hall - also unique in the world.
Now, because of the risk of underground construction of additional problems. As Langevoort said the Cologne press club, he had a conversation with KVB Executive Walter Reinarz. "It was about the possible acoustic problems during the underground operation," said the director of the Philharmonic.
Reinarz confirmed to EXPRESS: "We test in May, four so-called mass-spring systems in order to examine whether noise and vibration transmitted to the Philharmonic - and with what system, we can prevent that."
Langevoort already threatened, "If that can not do that, the trains just coming during rehearsals and concerts from the south only to the Town Hall and from the north only drive up to the cathedral."
